Several brush fires have been reported in Roanoke County and nearby regions, with varying degrees of containment. The Brush Mountain Fire shrank to 160 acres and is now 90% contained, while another fire in Hanging Rock has burned around 200 acres and is 50% contained. Crews are also battling a second brush fire in Roanoke County, which has consumed up to 250 acres. Although the Brush Mountain Fire remains largely uncontained, updates indicate progress is being made in containing other nearby fires. Evacuations and road closures, including parts of the Appalachian Trail, have been implemented in affected areas, but no injuries have been reported at this time.
