Pentagon Initiates Massive DEI Content Removal, Targeting 26,000 Images
The Pentagon has ordered the removal of over 26,000 military images in a controversial purge related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies. This decision, influenced by federal directives, has resulted in the elimination of various historical images, including those of war heroes and significant military firsts. Notably, images associated with the WWII aircraft Enola Gay are also being removed, raising concerns about the criteria used for these deletions. The crackdown has captured attention due to its implications for representation of military history, as well as its focus on content deemed inconsistent with current DEI standards. As part of this initiative, several branches of the military, including the Indiana National Guard and Air Force bases, have also revised social media postings to align with the new guidelines.
