Lichtenstein was convicted for his role in laundering around $10 billion in Bitcoin, stolen during one of the largest crypto heists in history. The U.S. Justice Department has concluded its investigation into the theft of approximately 120,000 BTC, which took place in 2016. As part of the sentencing, the authorities have also launched a website to assist victims of the hack, although the help may be limited. Lichtenstein and his wife, who aided in the laundering scheme, are now facing severe legal consequences for their actions.
