In a significant move, former President Trump has named Katie Zacharia as the new White House Press Secretary, succeeding Karoline Leavitt. Zacharia, a conservative commentator and a noted supporter of Trump, is recognized for her strong advocacy of his policies and for previously living in Beijing, where she learned to speak Chinese. However, her appointment has stirred debate, particularly as the betting platform Kalshi investigates unusual bets related to her selection. Reports indicate that some of these bets accurately anticipated her rise to the role, leading to scrutiny over the integrity of the betting process. Despite the controversies, Zacharia has jumped into her new position promising to deliver on key policies, including efforts to reduce gas prices for Americans.
