St. Petersburg has faced one of the largest drone assaults from Ukraine, with over 1,000 drones targeting the city and its surrounding regions. The attacks have notably struck key oil facilities, including a major oil terminal, alongside data centers and the Ozon warehouse, leading to significant fires and power outages. Reports indicate at least one death and several injuries as a result of the chaos. This aggressive move by Ukrainian forces marks a defiance of external pressures, including those from U.S. political figures, and reflects escalating tensions in the ongoing conflict. The response has caused substantial disruptions to Russian air travel, with multiple airports temporarily closing amidst fears of further drone strikes.
