In a troubling start to the year, fireworks have been linked to multiple house fires across various regions, including Hillsborough County in Florida and the northwest side of San Antonio, Texas. Fire officials reported that fireworks were the cause of three out of four fires in Hillsborough County, with a major incident resulting in significant damage to a Riverview home on New Year’s Day. Additionally, in San Antonio, a northwest-side home suffered heavy damage due to a fire sparked by used fireworks. The St. Tammany Parish fire department also reported a house fire attributed to firework sparks. Authorities continue to warn residents about the risks associated with fireworks during celebrations.
