Using deep learning models, scientists have uncovered antibiotics hidden within ancient archaeal microbes and created an impressive 36 million novel compounds, with two showing significant promise against these resilient pathogens. This innovative approach not only enhances our understanding of antibiotic development but also reveals potential antimicrobial activities in previously overlooked microbes.
