Recent drone attacks have set two tankers ablaze off the coast of Romania, resulting in seven sailors reported missing. Romanian authorities are actively conducting rescue missions while placing responsibility for the strikes on Russia, which they accuse of attempting to destabilize NATO and hinder support for Ukraine. The incidents have prompted NATO allies to convene to discuss the rising threats in the Black Sea, underscoring the growing concerns over security in the region. As investigations continue into the suspected drone strikes, the maritime situation remains critical, impacting global shipping and energy sectors.
