Melat Kiros has made history by becoming the first Gen Z woman elected to Congress, winning the 1st Congressional District seat in Colorado. In a notable primary, she ousted incumbent Diana DeGette and went on to easily secure her position against Christy Peterson in the general election. Kiros, a Democratic Socialist, has garnered significant support, particularly for her stance on Zionism, which has become a defining issue in her campaign. With this victory, she joins the ranks of a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives.
