Hawaii Doctor Convicted of Attempted Manslaughter in Wife Attack
A jury has found Dr. Gerhardt Konig, a Maui-based physician, guilty of attempted manslaughter for his violent attack on his wife during a birthday hike on a cliffside trail. Prosecutors argued that jealousy motivated the assault, during which he allegedly attempted to push her off the cliff and struck her with a rock. Testimonies included claims from their son, who stated that his father confessed to the attack during a FaceTime call. Dr. Konig, who maintained that he acted in self-defense, now faces up to 20 years in prison following the conviction.
