Canadian Freighter Freed After Three Days Trapped in Lake Erie Ice
A Canadian freighter, the Manitoulin, has finally been freed after being stuck in the ice on Lake Erie for three days. The U.S. Coast Guard, along with additional icebreaking vessels, worked tirelessly to break the ice and assist the stranded ship, which had 17 crew members on board. Drone footage captured the scene of the frozen vessel as rescue efforts continued. After significant efforts, the freighter is now on the move under its own power, leaving behind the icy grasp that trapped it near Buffalo.
