Major Multi-Vehicle Pileup Closes I-70 in Colorado Amid Snowy Conditions
A massive crash involving over 75 vehicles has resulted in the closure of I-70 at the Eisenhower Tunnel, as drivers faced treacherous snowy conditions. Among the incidents reported on this stretch of highway were six separate crashes in Clear Creek County and a separate semi-truck crash that spilled beer onto the roadway. At least 19 people have been hospitalized following the pileup, which has created significant traffic backups. Despite some westbound lanes reopening, the eastbound I-70 remains closed as officials work to clear the scene and ensure the safety of drivers. Weather advisories continue to warn of low snowpack levels in the area, contributing to the hazardous driving conditions.
