Due to high winds and increasing fire danger, the City of Boulder has announced the closure of all Open Space and Mountain Parks properties, as well as administrative offices and recreational facilities. Schools in the Boulder Valley and Jeffco districts will remain closed on Friday, following power outages and safety concerns caused by the weather. The decision on when classes will resume is expected to be made by the Boulder Valley School District on Thursday afternoon. In total, nearly 9,000 residents in Boulder County are without power, and further outages are anticipated. Additionally, several other Colorado school districts have also announced closures this Thursday due to similar conditions.
