Pentagon Plans Significant Cutbacks on Civilian Workforce
The Pentagon is set to cut up to 60,000 civilian jobs, a move that has raised concerns and confusion among the workforce. Reports indicate that about a third of those affected have already taken voluntary resignations amid the hiring freeze that has held previously approved job movements in suspense. As the Defense Department implements these cuts, officials are clarifying that fewer than 21,000 of the resignations have been accepted so far, adding to the anxiety surrounding the changes in personnel policies.
