A powerful 7.0-magnitude earthquake has struck in the remote wilderness along the Alaska-Canada border, triggering more than 20 aftershocks felt across the region. The tremors were experienced in nearby areas such as Yakutat and Whitehorse. Scientists noted similarities to a previous significant earthquake in 2018. Fortunately, there is no tsunami threat reported from this event, though it remains one of the strongest recorded in the area.
