As the midterm elections draw closer, House Democrats are significantly expanding their target list, adding six more Republican-held seats including two in districts that President Trump carried by 20 points. National Democrats have identified Virginia’s 6th District and Jeff Van Drew’s South Jersey seat among the districts in play. With polls indicating a favorable shift, Democrats are optimistic about their chances to flip these seats from red to blue. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has also announced efforts to invest in traditionally Republican territories, indicating a strategic push into deep-red districts. This expansion reflects a growing confidence among Democrats about gaining majority control in upcoming elections.
