US Passport Suffers Historic Decline, Falling Out of Global Top 10
In a significant shift in global mobility, the US passport has dropped out of the top 10 most powerful passports for the first time in twenty years, currently ranking twelfth in the Henley Passport Index. This decline reflects a trend of diminishing visa-free access for US passport holders amidst stronger competition from Asian nations, which now dominate passport rankings. Meanwhile, India has fallen to the 85th position, offering visa-free access to only 57 countries. The fall of the US passport is attributed to various factors including past political decisions and ongoing global changes in travel regulations.
