Texas Legislature Concludes Special Session Without THC Ban
Texas retailers and hemp growers expressed relief as lawmakers ended a special session without advancing a proposed THC ban, leaving most THC products legal in the state. Governor Abbott hinted at the possibility of a third special session to address unresolved issues related to hemp and THC regulations. Despite attempts to impose stricter regulations on THC products, the second special session concluded with no agreement, allowing the hemp industry to celebrate its reprieve. While a new vape ban is set to take effect, which includes restrictions on THC vapes, the overarching legislative impasse means that many THC products continue to be legal for consumption across Texas.
