FBI and Allies Disrupt Major Chinese Hacking Operations Targeting US Infrastructure and Devices
In a significant crackdown on cyber threats, the FBI has announced the disruption of multiple Chinese hacking operations threatening US critical infrastructure and consumer devices. FBI Director Christopher Wray revealed that two major Chinese hacking groups, including the ‘Flax Typhoon’ and a botnet known as ‘Raptor Train,’ have been dismantled. The operations involved over 260,000 compromised devices, including routers and IoT devices. Alongside the FBI, the NSA and allies issued warnings about a large-scale botnet linked to the People’s Republic of China. This multi-faceted response is aimed at safeguarding national security and protecting Americans from the ongoing cyber threats posed by state-sponsored actors.
