A series of violent encounters in Fort Collins have resulted in injuries to both law enforcement officers and suspects. CIRT has activated to investigate officer-involved shootings that occurred on March 10, notably one where a deputy was shot following a motorcycle pursuit. In a separate incident at Edora Park, a motorcyclist was shot during a confrontation with deputies. The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating multiple shooting incidents, including one where a suspect allegedly threatened deputies with a knife and stole a patrol cruiser. Multiple roads, including Hwy. 1, have been closed due to these incidents. Overall, a deputy and a suspect have been confirmed as injured following various shootouts around the area.
