Multiple Wildfires Rage Near Utah-Colorado Border, Prompting Evacuations and Road Closures
A series of wildfires have erupted near the Utah-Colorado border, causing significant destruction and prompting pre-evacuation orders in affected areas. Nearly 1,500 acres are currently burning from two major fires, leading to evacuation orders in Glade Park. In total, fire crews are battling over six confirmed wildfires across Mesa County, including the newly ignited Snyder and Jones fires. Some wildfires have merged into a massive 28,000-acre blaze, severely impacting local communities. Additional blazes, including the Horsehead and Babylon fires, are also threatening structures in San Juan County. Sheriff’s officials have issued road closures and warned residents to remain alert as the fire danger persists in the region.
