Brad Lander, a US Democratic congressional candidate from New York, was briefly detained by Israeli military forces while participating in an olive harvest in the West Bank. His detention was part of a larger operation where Israeli forces apprehended approximately 90 volunteers, including other American citizens. Lander stated that he was released after the incident, but emphasized the ongoing struggles faced by Palestinians in the region. The detentions have sparked criticism from various political figures and rights groups, highlighting concerns over the treatment of individuals engaging in volunteer activities in the occupied territories.
