Trump Administration Pauses Federal Property Sales Amid Backlash

The Trump administration recently made headlines as it removed a comprehensive list of hundreds of federal properties, including iconic sites like the FBI and Red Cross headquarters, that were targeted for potential sale. Initially, the General Services Administration (GSA) had proposed selling several federal buildings across the country, from Boston to Seattle, but after public backlash and concerns from lawmakers, many of these listings were abruptly retracted. Some buildings, such as those housing the Department of Justice and Veterans’ Affairs, were included in the planned sales. The GSA has announced plans to republish a revised list, but for now, the proposal to sell over 443 federal properties has been put on hold.
