Severe Winter Weather Hits Minnesota, Snow Emergencies Declared
Minnesota is currently facing significant winter weather challenges as a series of snowstorms blanket the state. The heaviest snow has fallen north of the Twin Cities, leading to the declaration of snow emergencies in both Minneapolis and St. Paul, affecting over 300,000 people. After a winter storm brought several inches of snow, roads have become slick, resulting in more than 250 reported crashes. Residents are bracing for additional light snow on Thursday, followed by dangerously cold temperatures. Travel conditions are hazardous, prompting early school dismissals across several districts. Snowplow crews are working tirelessly to clear roads, and weather alerts remain in effect as another snowy system is anticipated. The state is preparing for an active weather pattern with ongoing snow and subzero temperatures expected this weekend.
