As the South Carolina Senate race heats up, concerns grow for Republican Darline Graham, prompting the GOP to allocate $5 million in support. This investment coincides with President Trump’s inflammatory remarks aimed at Democratic candidate Annie Andrews, in which he employs anti-trans slurs. The former GOP governor of South Carolina has broken ranks to condemn Trump’s rhetoric, labeling it ‘abhorrent’ and ‘disgusting.’ Andrews has responded, asserting that name-calling won’t solve economic challenges. This tumultuous backdrop has led to bipartisan outrage over Trump’s statements, highlighting the increasingly competitive nature of the race.
