U.S. Air Force Initiates Ground Testing for Collaborative Combat Aircraft at Beale AFB

The U.S. Air Force has begun ground testing for its Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program, selecting Beale Air Force Base as the preferred location for its Aircraft Readiness Unit. This initiative aims to enhance combat capabilities through the integration of uncrewed fighter jets, including the newly unveiled YFQ-44A prototype. The Air Force anticipates that these drones, expected to operate alongside crewed jets like the F-22 and F-35, will be cheaper and less intricate than their predecessors. Ground tests are underway, with flight tests slated to commence in mid-2025.
