California Declared Drought-Free for the First Time in 25 Years

California has achieved a significant milestone as it is now completely drought-free for the first time in 25 years, following a series of winter storms. The U.S. Drought Monitor reports that no areas in the state are experiencing dry conditions, marking a remarkable turnaround from the drought that has plagued the region for over two decades. Reservoirs are currently at 65% capacity, contributing to this improved status. However, experts caution that while the state is currently free of drought, challenges may arise if winter precipitation does not continue.
